We never use fake wood! Solid wood has the ability to shrink, swell, warp, twist and crack; however, this does not happen often. Although rare, it is a possibility with every piece of real wood furniture you may purchase, regardless of who made it. Please do not let anyone tell you that those issues cannot arise because they are completely wrong. Wood can have pitches at times and can seep sap; however, we know what to look for and we heat these areas to crystalize any sap that may potentially come out. This method works great; however, wood is natural and sometimes sap can seep out and that is beyond out control. Wood is a natural resource, so it is not manufactured by a machine; therefore, those issues can arise, due to moisture content and climate. However, we take every measure to prevent this from occurring. * Real wood is extremely beautiful and full of charm! Your desk is special and unique because nobody else will have the exact same one as you! There will be minor imperfections in the wood and we consider that to be character! It's truly beautiful and unique! We wood fill knots and more but this is a solid wood desk and not a manufactured particle board desk; therefore, it will show some of the natural character of the wood and boards. Rustic desks are built to show more wood characteristics! We offer free hand delivery and set up to a lot of states, especially those on the East Coast and some of the surrounding states.
